2017-2018 Concerts

Asheville Choral Society New Season

Special Event

The Asheville Choral Society proudly announces the inaugural performance of Tempus, a small group highlighting the transformational experience of live music. Tempus explores vocal blend and expression in new ways.

Voices in Time
Featuring: Tempus
Saturday, October 28, 2017, 7:00 PM
First Congregational UCC, 20 Oak St., Asheville, NC

This concert features the music of Ola Gjeilo, Oscar Escalada, Ēriks Ešenvalds, and a new set with instrumental trio, called Songs of Love, by Will Todd. The Argentinian dance in Libertango, for example, paints a scene of a Spanish festival, using the voices as the instruments in the mariachi band. In Gjeilo's Phoenix, the vocal blend creates an ethereal soundscape. Join us for an evening of musical expression by our newly-formed, advanced ensemble and, in recognition of the season, be on the lookout for some spooks and surprises thrown in!

Tickets will not be sold in advance. Admission will be first-come, first-served, with a suggested donation at the door.

Local breweries and wine merchants will feature a seasonal variety of refreshments for suggested donation following the concert.
