Welcome in spring with the season’s stunning finale. The title of this concert is borrowed from a piece by the venerable Slovak composer Ivan Hrusovsky. Rytmus (Latin for “rhythm") will feature a number of innovative works, both traditional and contemporary, that exemplify the many ways composers explore, and even exploit, rhythm. From jarring and unrelenting to tranquil and reassuring, the concert will spotlight pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Cristóbal de Morales, Aaron Copland, W.C. Handy, Bobby McFerrin, Moses Hogan and much, much more. Can you feel the beat?
