This group is good - better than good. The Asheville Choral Society The Asheville Choral Society, 100 voices strong, is celebrating its 34th year of bringing innovative, challenging choral masterpieces to its Western North Carolina audience. The ACS presents three concert programs per season with two performances of each program. The makeup of this volunteer, auditioned chorus is quite diverse, with members from 18 to 80! Many have considerable choral experience or are degreed and/or professional musicians. The ACS was founded in 1977 under Dr. Robert P. Keener, Music Director Emeritus, who led the group for its first 22 seasons. From 2000 to 2010, Music Director Lenora Thom presided over a period of unprecedented artistic and organizational growth for the chorus. Now, the ACS enters its 35th season more excited than ever! This year marks our first with new Music Director Dr. Melodie Galloway. We invite you to be a part of our 35th Season! Click Here to View Our 2011-2012 Concert Lineup!
